In 1817, the Faversham brewer, Henry Needle, installed one William Vidgeon as keeper of 'The Three Tuns' public house, Lower Halstow. Upon his death in 1838 his son Thomas took over the licence. Described as a victualler he stayed until 1852, when he was succeeded by one James Homeward, victualler of Sittingbourne.

Built in 1881 by Curels' at Frindsbury for R. A. Vidgeon of Hoo, 45 tons. Used in early years for taking hay and straw to London with return loads of manure for farms to use as fertiliser. Broken up at Erith. Owners include Vidgeon, Graham, and Erith Sea Scouts.

Hello Arthur,
Please find attached a rough outline of my Father-in-laws family tree.
It seems that Albert Jame's dad was known as "Pop" and came from Kent. In fact my Mother and Father-in-law remember in their early married life visiting a place called Hoo but can't remember who they went to see.
Albert James owned a slaughterhouse and a couple of butchers shops in West Ham. His sons Donald and Leslie became slaughtermen, Colin worked at the slaughterhouse, and my Father-in-law (William) worked in the butchers shops.
Albert James' Birthday could be 10th December 1905 (from memory).
They could not remember a Daniel and thought that Mabel was married to a teacher called Fred Starkey.
Aunty Mabel could have gone to Cleethorpes, a relation was a policeman there.
They thought an Aunty Kate lived at White House Farm, Hoo.
I believe Pop's name could be Thomas George Vidgeon (from Albert James and Jessie McKimm wedding certificate).
Pop could have lived at Lime Road Bexley Heath at some point.
Ada married David Garrett who was a bookbinder.
Ada and Robert Vidgeon (married Dolly) was in the Anchor and Hope darts team.
